Bok choy has amild, cabbage-like flavor. As with most dark leafy greens, the green part of bok choy has a slightly bitter mineral flavor. The white stalk is full of water and has a crunchy yet juicy texture.

Also known as 'the stinking rose', garlic (allium sativum) has a strong flavour which mellows with cooking. It adds a distinctive, pungent taste and aroma to a wide range of savoury dishes around the world, particularly from Mediterranean and Asian countries.
